Improved safety management with solutions from Praxas

Praxas has been around for over 20 years. During these years, we have identified risks in various sectors, conducted analyses, and gained experience in various areas. This has led to a range of suitable solutions. By measuring and analysing, the pain points in the chain can be identified. The risks are tackled with protective equipment that is appropriate to the situation. In this way we create reliable safety management, so that companies are assured of the best quality for their products and for themselves.

With leading suppliers such as Lascar Electronics and LogTag, Praxas has the most reliable data loggers in its range.

With more than 50 years of experience, Lascar is a market leader in data loggers, panel display and electronic design. Most data loggers from Lascar Electronics are multi-use, which means they can be used for a longer period of time in many sectors. They not only measure temperature and humidity, but also voltage and electricity or CO2 in indoor environments.

LogTag’s loggers are available in single-use and multi-use and are mainly used for logistics purposes. These loggers are also used in healthcare. LogTag’s loggers measure temperature and humidity and are in demand by companies that have to regularly perform quality checks. They come with free software and associated certificates, which you can obtain from the software yourself.

Data loggers record information about, for example, temperature or humidity. This information can be used to analyse when a temperature fluctuates or when there is a lot or little moisture in the air. Temperature and moisture can pose risks to the quality of products. It is therefore important to identify when these risks are highest, so that intervention or measures can be taken to reduce the risks.

Damage is common, especially moisture damage. The costs for the losses are often factored in, but are those costs necessary? While we have just explained that data loggers can measure where the risks lie, it is always better to prevent those risks. When a shipment is in transit for a long time, temperature fluctuations are almost inevitable. Large temperature differences between day and night at sea can cause container rain. Transitions from the hot tarmac to a cool aircraft compartment also result in temperature differences. Measuring remains important, but measuring does not protect your products.

Absortech has been our desiccant supplier for many years. They work with calcium chloride, an environmentally friendly product with a high absorption capacity. This means that moisture from the air is absorbed and dissolves in the calcium chloride. Over time, calcium chloride increases its ability to absorb water, making it suitable for long journeys and unpredictable transportation conditions. Absortech supplies desiccants for both container transport and smaller packages. By using desiccants, the risk of moisture damage is nil, ensuring that products arrive at their final destination in good quality. However, it must be taken into account how much moisture is already in the container and in the products. This can influence the number of desiccants that need to be used.

Using a container liner reduces the risk of moisture. A container liner is an insulating layer that is placed on the inside of the container by means of magnets and rods. This closes air and rust holes in the container and prevents moisture from entering the container from outside. The insulation layer ensures that temperatures fluctuate less. With a container insulation pack, consisting of a container liner, desiccants and data loggers, you can be sure that your products reach the other side of the ocean without moisture damage.

If the products need to be transported faster, a boat is usually not chosen, but we are forced to ship by air freight. The necessary protection can also be applied to air freight. When perishable goods are sent, the temperature must always be guaranteed for quality checks. In addition, rain and dust can also damage products. It is then important to use a pallet cover from TLX. This protects against precipitation, dust and insects. The white exterior blocks out solar radiation and makes the temperature inside the cover rise less quickly. There are currently developments for a new pallet cover with new barriers against solar radiation. We will share more about this soon.

We have found a good partner for track and trace solutions. By creating insight into location, temperature, humidity, light, movement and shock, logistics processes can be optimized and goods are transported safely. Thanks to 5G technology, you are always connected to this device and you have an overview of the conditions of your products at a glance. This device is also available in a non-lithium version, so it can be safely taken on an airplane.

Risky trends are also identified using this device. Because it reduces loss and theft, this is an important part of safety management.

Certain flowers, plants, vegetables and fruits can release ethylene. Ethylene causes products to ripen faster and can cause them to become overripe, which is not desirable if they still have to be sold. Praxas’ ethylene filters filter ethylene from the air, keeping the products fresh for longer.

Ethylene is not only harmful to perishable goods, but in large quantities it can also be harmful to humans. Ethylene is a gas that is highly flammable and explosive. In addition, long-term exposure can cause health problems. For safety reasons, it is therefore important that ethylene is not released in large quantities.

By integrating the use of data loggers into your daily operations, you have insight into temperature and humidity. Because this no longer has to be done manually, this saves valuable time.

If the values are exceeded, immediate action can be taken, ensuring that your products remain safe from risks.

Implementing track and trace solutions can prevent theft and allow for more efficient planning.

Waste can be prevented by identifying risks. This results in less financial hassle and no unnecessary extras environmentally harmful transports. Moreover, you maintain your good image and save valuable time.

Regularly check the logger’s battery and, if you work with quality controls, whether the logger is still within the calibration standards.

Also regularly check your covers and liners for defects* and ensure that they are replaced in time for the safest possible operation.

By applying these tips, you will immediately improve the safety management in your organization.
